Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney is the daughter of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move into New York. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap-opera All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash with a variety of television shows and dramas. She has not had a successful or happy personal life. The skilled actor been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two marriages that failed. In 2005, the actress was denied the custody of her son.
